Anne Ahlman, MPT
As a medical writer, editor, and physical therapist practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have extensive knowledge about a wide variety of diagnoses, conditions, and diseases. My ongoing clinical experience gives me valuable perspective on patient care, rehabilitation, and wellness, and strengthens my resolve to provide an individualized approach to health care. I am the author of the book "Naked Elbows: A Physical Therapist's Reflections on Patient Care, Intuition, and Healing," a medical narrative that explores the personal and professional aspects of patient care from the other side of the treatment table. From its inaugural launch in early 2007 through the first three years of publication, I am proud to have served as the medical editor of Today in PT magazine, a trade magazine for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. My blog for Today in PT was read by over 86,000 health professionals each week. Other experience includes presenting the workshop "Workstation Wellness: Stay-Fit Strategies for Medical Writers" at the American Medical Writers Association 2009 Pacific Coast Conference in Asilomar, being a panelist for several freelance writers' events, and participating as a guest speaker on the HealthTalk webcast program. In addition, I have written numerous continuing education courses for health professionals, articles for human and veterinary medicine, and have provided peer reviews for medical journal articles and physical therapy publications.
